Corporate Finance Partner – Birmingham

About the role

The Legists is seeking an experienced Corporate Finance Solicitor Partner to join its Birmingham office. This senior position offers the chance to lead a high‑profile corporate practice, work with recognised experts and contribute to the firm’s continued growth.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, management buy‑outs, shareholder agreements, restructures, joint ventures and general corporate matters.
• Develop and expand the corporate practice by strengthening existing client relationships and generating new business.
• Collaborate with banking, commercial, employment, real estate and tax teams to deliver seamless, high‑value transaction advice.
• Lead and mentor junior lawyers, fostering a commercial and client‑focused culture.

Required profile

• Proven track record as a Corporate Partner with high‑quality corporate work.
• Established reputation and a loyal network of clients, introducers and professional contacts in the Midlands.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking and a genuine appetite for business development.
• Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Deep expertise in corporate law, including M&A, private equity, shareholder agreements and restructures.
• Excellent client relationship management and commercial advisory skills.
• Leadership and team‑development capabilities.
