Corporate Tax Associate Director

About the role

We are seeking a technically strong Corporate Tax professional with Big Firm experience to join a growing, independent accountancy practice in Warrington. This senior position offers autonomy, visibility and a clear route to progression within a dynamic team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of large corporate and group clients, both audit and non‑audit.
• Oversee delivery of corporate tax compliance, ensuring accuracy, quality and deadline adherence.
• Review complex corporation tax returns, computations and capital allowances claims.
• Handle multi‑entity and international group structures, including transfer pricing and corporate interest restriction (CIR) considerations.
• Advise on debt funding and financing structures.
• Maintain client relationships and act as primary contact for senior stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of tax professionals.
• Oversee budgets, work‑in‑progress, billing and commercial efficiency.
• Support workflow planning, resource management and internal process improvements.

Required profile

• ACA / CTA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a Top 20 or larger accountancy firm.
• Strong background in corporate tax compliance for large corporates and groups.
• Excellent technical knowledge of capital allowances and key corporate tax legislation.
• Awareness of transfer pricing, CIR and complex financing structures.
• Experience managing sizeable, complex client portfolios.
• Confident reviewer with strong attention to detail.
• Previous experience leading or managing a team.
• Highly organised and able to work under pressure.
