Cosmetic Oculoplastic Practice Nurse – London

About the role

This permanent, full‑time role supports patients undergoing oculoplastic and cosmetic surgical procedures in a central North London hospital. The nurse will guide patients from the initial consultation through recovery, providing clinical care, education and continuity of support.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safe, evidence‑based nursing care throughout the patient journey, from pre‑assessment to post‑operative follow‑up.
• Attend theatres and pre‑operative wards to provide a familiar presence and continuity of care.
• Perform minor surgical procedures, remove sutures, administer injections and manage wound care within personal competencies.
• Provide patient education and counselling, ensuring informed decision‑making and supporting recovery at home.
• Maintain stock of consumables and drugs required for the oculoplastic practice in the outpatient setting.
• Contribute to the service’s digital presence by creating social‑media content that reflects the consultant’s work and hospital values.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (NMC) with minimum Band 6 experience.
• Previous experience in plastic, cosmetic or surgical nursing.
• Training or licence for suture removal and injection administration.
• Strong oral and written communication skills with a patient‑focused attitude.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence‑based practice.
