Cost Controller

About the role

The Cost Controller will join the Finance team of Cambridge House during its pre‑opening phase, helping to establish robust cost control processes for the new luxury hotel in Mayfair, London. You will work closely with operational departments to ensure spending aligns with budgets and to provide financial insights that support operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain cost control procedures across all operational departments during pre‑opening.
• Monitor supply costs, compare actual spend to budget, and flag variances.
• Conduct daily, weekly and monthly cost analyses, identifying trends and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare accurate cost reports and management information for Finance and department heads.
• Review purchasing activity, inventory movements and supplier invoices for accuracy and compliance.
• Support inventory control, waste minimisation and discrepancy reporting.
• Assist in selecting and implementing inventory management systems.
• Analyse operating margins and recommend actions to enhance profitability while maintaining luxury standards.
• Participate in month‑end closing activities, including stock valuations, accruals and cost reconciliations.
• Maintain records and documentation in line with company policies and audit requirements.
