Cost Controller - Nuclear

About the role

Vulcain Engineering Ltd is seeking a Cost Controller to join its project controls team in Bristol. The role supports internal and client‑facing engineering projects within the nuclear sector, ensuring accurate financial reporting and analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts.
• Produce regular cost reports, dashboards, and performance updates for project teams and senior management.
• Analyse cost variances, identify risks, trends, and opportunities.
• Support project managers with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Develop and maintain Excel‑based reporting tools and trackers.
• Assist with change control processes and assess the cost impact of project changes.
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of project cost data.
• Support month‑end reporting and financial review processes.
• Collaborate with project, engineering, commercial, and finance teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of project controls processes and reporting.

Required profile

• Commercially minded individual with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
• Team‑oriented attitude while maintaining attention to detail.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and data analysis.
