Counter Fraud Liability Claims Handler

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Counter Fraud Liability Claims Handler to join a respected, ambitious and growing insurer based in central Manchester. You will manage a caseload of liability claims, with some motor claims, focusing on fraud detection and resolution while supporting the wider team with intelligence sharing.

Key responsibilities

• Handle a caseload of liability (EL/PL/OL) and motor injury/hire claims, concentrating on fraud detection and resolution.
• Analyse and share intelligence updates with the wider team to maintain a consistent fraud‑prevention approach.
• Attend intelligence‑sharing forums and communicate relevant insights to colleagues.
• Negotiate and liaise with suppliers of intelligence products.
• Provide training and guidance to claims teams where required.
• Stay updated on legal and legislative changes and share key analysis.

Required profile

• Solid experience in EL/PL/OL liability claims with a focus on fraud detection.
• Strong fraud awareness or counter‑fraud experience within liability or motor claims.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, organised and able to prioritise and manage your own caseload.
• Confident working independently while collaborating as part of a wider team.
• Willingness to learn, positive target‑driven work ethic and ability to lead by example on complex matters.
