Courier Van Driver – Temporary (2 positions)

About the role

Our client, a leading international freight forwarder, is seeking two temporary Courier Van Drivers for its Swindon hub. The role involves delivering and collecting shipments across the South West, providing a high level of customer service while adhering to strict safety and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Complete multiple daily deliveries and collections of various shipment types, sizes and weights.
• Provide outstanding customer service during every interaction.
• Accurately record working and driving hours in line with transport regulations.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks and ensure loads are secured correctly.
• Follow company driving standards, policies and procedures.
• Sort and prioritise workloads to meet delivery commitments.
• Collect and process cash‑on‑delivery payments where required.
• Maintain high standards of safety, security and compliance, including customs procedures where applicable.
• Report any potential security concerns to management.
• Identify business development opportunities and work collaboratively with the service centre team.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence; C1 (7.5 tonne) licence preferred.
• Digital tachograph card or willingness to obtain one.
• Age 25 years or over with at least 180 days of recent driving experience in this vehicle class.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to work under pressure.
• Physically fit and able to handle shipments safely following manual‑handling procedures.
• Willingness to undergo DBS check and provide five years of employment/reference history.

Required skills

What we offer

• £14.75 per hour, with overtime available on Saturdays.
• 45‑hour work week, Monday‑Friday 07:45‑17:15, with a 30‑minute unpaid lunch.
