Cover Officer – Boys Upper School

About the role

The Cover Officer provides lesson cover for the Boys' Upper School on a term‑time basis, working 36 hours per week from Monday to Thursday with Fridays off. This permanent position ensures continuity of learning and maintains high standards of behaviour when regular staff are absent.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with the Cover Supervisor to arrange and deliver lesson cover.
• Maintain high standards of learning and classroom behaviour during cover periods.
• Record attendance and report any issues to senior staff.
• Support students academically and pastoraly while covering classes.
• Assist with administrative tasks related to cover provision.

Required profile

• Authority and confidence to manage a classroom.
• Strong team‑player with excellent organisational skills.
• Flexibility, reliability and sound interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated punctuality and initiative.
• Previous experience covering lessons is an advantage.

Required skills

• Competent IT skills.
