Cover Supervision Co‑ordinator

About the role

This full‑time, term‑time only position is based in a SEN school in Southwark. You will coordinate daily cover arrangements for both planned and unplanned staff absences, ensuring the school day runs smoothly from 7 am to 3 pm, Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Organise cover for teaching and support staff efficiently and promptly.
• Liaise with the senior management team across the Trust to guarantee adequate cover levels.
• Oversee general administration for the role, including room changes and adjustments.
• Ensure all vetting documentation is received, recorded, and up‑to‑date.
• Update the SCR system daily with details of cover staff.
• Provide classroom supervision during teacher absences, following set lesson plans and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Required profile

• Experience as a cover supervisor, administrator, or in a similar organisational role.
• Strong organisational and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing schedules.
• Familiarity with SEN settings is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with school administration systems (e.g., SCR).
• Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Understanding of safeguarding and vetting procedures.
