About the role
Academics is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to work as Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across Stoke‑on‑Trent and surrounding towns. This temporary, flexible position allows you to gain real classroom experience without the need for lesson planning or marking.
Key responsibilities
- Lead lessons in the teacher’s absence, following prepared materials.
- Maintain pupil engagement and manage classroom behaviour.
- Complete a brief handover at the end of each session.
- Deliver work that has already been prepared for you.
Required profile
- Experience working with young people (minimum 2 months) in roles such as sports coaching, youth work, arts workshops, summer camps, scouts, or outdoor activity instruction.
- A degree or equivalent qualification is preferred, though all applications are considered.
- Ability to obtain a fully enhanced DBS (support available if needed).
