Cover Supervisor – Flexible Part‑Time Work in Stoke‑on‑Trent

About the role
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to act as Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across Stoke‑on‑Trent and nearby towns. This temporary, flexible role allows you to gain classroom experience without the need for lesson planning or marking.
Key responsibilities
- Lead lessons in the teacher’s absence using prepared materials.
- Maintain pupil engagement and classroom behaviour.
- Complete a brief handover at the end of each session.
- Follow guidance from the school and the recruitment team.
Required profile
- Experience working with young people (e.g., sports coaching, youth work, arts workshops, camps, scouts, outdoor activities) for at least two months.
- Confidence, reliability and good communication skills.
- Degree or equivalent qualification preferred, though all applicants are considered.
- Ability to obtain a fully enhanced DBS (support available).
Required skills
- Classroom management.
- Ability to follow prepared lesson plans.
