Cover Supervisor – Flexible School Assignments

About the role

The Cover Supervisor role supports pupils across a range of schools in Amersham, Buckinghamshire while the regular teacher is absent. You will deliver pre‑planned lessons, maintain classroom order and help learners continue making progress. This position offers flexible, short‑term or longer‑term assignments in primary, secondary, SEN and alternative provision settings.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons across various subjects and year groups.
• Maintain a positive learning environment and uphold classroom expectations.
• Adapt quickly to different school settings, including primary, secondary, SEN and alternative provision.
• Support pupil participation, engagement and progress while the regular teacher is absent.
• Follow school policies on behaviour, safeguarding and attendance.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Excellent classroom management and ability to lead groups.
• Flexibility to work in multiple schools and adapt to varied curricula.
• Commitment to supporting learning and maintaining high standards.
