Cover Supervisor – Flexible School Cover in Southampton

About the role
Academics are looking for motivated Cover Supervisors to provide classroom cover across secondary schools in Southampton. This role is ideal for recent graduates or unqualified teachers who want to gain confidence delivering lessons and managing behaviour.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver pre‑planned lessons in various subjects for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Maintain classroom discipline and keep pupils engaged during cover sessions.
- Travel to multiple schools within the Southampton area as required.
- Adapt to different subjects and departments based on personal strengths.
Required profile
- Degree or relevant experience working in a school setting.
- Recent experience of teaching or supporting a classroom in the UK.
- Strong classroom management and behaviour control skills.
- Availability to work at least three days per week.
- Based in Portsmouth or willing to travel across Southampton.
- Willingness to cover a range of subjects across the curriculum.
