Cover Supervisor – Flexible School Support

About the role

We are seeking reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to step into classrooms across secondary schools in Croydon and surrounding boroughs. You will ensure continuity of learning during short‑term teacher absences by delivering pre‑prepared lesson plans and maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise classes during teachers' short‑term absence.
• Deliver pre‑set lesson plans across a range of subjects, including English and Maths.
• Maintain a calm, well‑managed classroom environment.
• Manage student behaviour in line with each school's policies.
• Encourage engagement and support learning where appropriate.
• Provide clear feedback to teaching staff after each lesson or day.

Required profile

• Previous experience working in a school or with young people (desirable).
• Strong classroom management and communication abilities.
• Proactive, flexible approach with capacity for last‑minute bookings.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.
