Cover Supervisor – Flexible Teaching Role in Chester

About the role

Randstad Education is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to support schools in Chester. You will step into classrooms during teacher absence, delivering planned lessons and ensuring a positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lessons prepared by the class teacher while they are away.
• Keep pupils focused, motivated and inspired to learn.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policy.
• Assist with lunch and break duties when needed.
• Report any safeguarding concerns to the SENCO.

Required profile

• Degree‑level qualification in any subject.
• Previous experience in education or a youth‑facing role (highly advantageous).
• Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS check.
• Eligibility for EWC registration.

Required skills

• Ability to follow and deliver pre‑planned lesson material.
• Classroom management and behaviour control.
• Effective communication with pupils and staff.
