Cover Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to work as Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across Sutton. You will provide short‑term and daily classroom cover for teachers, ensuring that lessons continue smoothly when teachers are absent.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise classes and keep students engaged in tasks during teacher absence.
• Maintain a safe and orderly learning environment throughout the school day (approximately 8:30 am – 3:45 pm).
• Deliver any pre‑planned activities or worksheets provided by the regular teacher.
• Report any issues or concerns to school staff promptly.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people aged 11‑18 (e.g., graduates, youth workers, camp leaders, sports coaches).
• Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
• Two references covering the past two years.
• Confident, positive and professional attitude towards students.

Required skills

• Flexible short‑term, long‑term or supply contracts.
• Day rate of £90 – £110.
