Cover Supervisor – Secondary Academy (Stratford)

About the role

A busy secondary academy in Stratford is seeking Cover Supervisors and Cover Teachers to support the school from September. The positions are short‑term and long‑term, offering qualified teachers and experienced supervisors the chance to gain classroom experience in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons across a range of subjects.
• Supervise classes and keep students engaged in learning.
• Maintain positive behaviour in line with academy policies.
• Support students with classwork and learning activities.
• Take registers and follow school procedures.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff after lessons.
• Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote a positive learning environment.

Required profile

• Experience working with secondary‑aged students.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to different subjects and year groups.
• Professional, reliable, and flexible approach.
• Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
• For Cover Teacher roles, QTS or equivalent teaching qualification is desirable.
• For Cover Supervisor roles, a degree or relevant experience working with young people.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
