Cover Supervisor – Secondary School (Liverpool)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to support a secondary school in Liverpool. The ideal candidate will be confident delivering Mathematics, English and another subject of their choice, while maintaining a positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Classroom management: keep students focused and maintain a constructive atmosphere.
• Deliver pre‑set work: supervise completion of teacher‑prepared tasks and ensure lesson plans are followed.
• Support students: answer questions and assist with any difficulties.
• Behaviour management: enforce school policies and address issues promptly.
• Record keeping: document attendance and notable incidents.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with young people in a school setting.
• Up‑to‑date safeguarding training (desirable, training can be provided).
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS check with online update service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Two professional references covering the last 24 months.

What we offer

• Day rate paid to scale, £105‑£250 per day.
• Full‑time or part‑time, Monday‑Friday 08:00‑16:00.
• Start date: September 2026.
• Placement within a supportive secondary school environment.
