Cover Supervisor (Secondary School) – Part‑time Temporary

About the role

We are supporting a large mixed secondary school in Streatham that is looking for a Cover Supervisor from September 2026. The school is recognised for its outstanding features and offers a supportive environment for staff to develop their passion for teaching. The role involves delivering lessons and managing student groups with minimal preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide cover for registration and ensure a smooth start of lessons.
• Deliver lessons left uncovered, maintaining high standards with limited preparation and sometimes short notice.
• Create a positive learning climate using the school's behaviour policies and gold classroom standards.
• Support students' self‑esteem through praise, encouragement and positive interactions.
• Assist in developing and implementing SEN support plans where required.

Required profile

• Hold a degree or be an aspiring teacher.
• Interest in, and knowledge of, autism.
• Experience managing behaviours of distress.
• Proven ability to solve problems quickly and remain calm.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
