Cover Supervisor – Secondary School (Reading)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to support secondary school classes in Reading. This role offers hands‑on classroom experience for individuals considering a teaching career or recent graduates looking to gain practical experience.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain positive behaviour and keep students engaged during lessons.
• Deliver and supervise pre‑prepared work set by the class teacher.
• Build strong, professional relationships with students and staff.
• Uphold safeguarding, health and safety standards at all times.

Required profile

• Experience working in a school or educational environment.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Positive attitude and genuine passion for supporting young people.
• Confidence in managing behaviour and creating a productive learning atmosphere.
• Ability to commute to Reading.
• GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C/4 or above.
• Interest in supporting SEN students (optional).
