Cover Supervisor – Secondary School (Southport)

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to step into a Cover Supervisor role within secondary schools in Southport and Sefton. This position offers valuable classroom experience and can serve as a stepping stone toward a teaching career, providing flexible cover assignments across short‑term, long‑term and potential permanent placements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise classes when the regular teacher is absent.
• Deliver pre‑prepared lesson plans and keep students on task.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Support students with their learning during lessons.
• Create a positive and focused learning environment.
• Collaborate closely with teaching staff and the wider school team.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people or in a school setting is desirable.
• Confidence in managing a classroom and maintaining positive behaviour.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Flexible, reliable and professional attitude.
• Interest in education or a future teaching career.
