Cover Supervisor – Secondary School (St Albans)

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic and confident individuals to support secondary students in a high‑achieving school in St Albans. As a Cover Supervisor you will step in during teacher absence, ensuring lessons continue smoothly and pupils stay on task.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise classes during teacher absence and ensure students complete set work.
• Manage classroom behaviour and uphold school expectations.
• Deliver pre‑prepared lesson material – no planning or marking required.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff and support the smooth running of the school day.

Required profile

• A degree or relevant experience working with young people (e.g., education, coaching, youth work).
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Positive attitude, adaptability and professionalism.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one).
