Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools (Temporary)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Cover Supervisor to provide short‑term teaching cover across secondary schools in Surrey and West Sussex. This temporary position offers the chance to gain classroom experience while supporting schools during teacher absences.

Key responsibilities

• Cover lessons in the absence of the regular teacher across various secondary schools.
• Deliver pre‑set work to students while maintaining classroom order and discipline.
• Assist in preparing teaching materials and setting up equipment needed for lessons.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback as required.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of different classes.

Required profile

• Experience working with secondary‑age pupils (highly advantageous).
• Strong desire to enter the teaching profession or gain further experience in education.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage classrooms and ensure a productive learning environment.
• Flexibility to travel to different schools within Surrey and West Sussex.
