Cover Supervisor – Temporary Full‑Time Role in Barnsley

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Cover Supervisor to step into classrooms across Barnsley when teachers are absent. You will deliver pre‑planned lessons, keep pupils focused and support a positive learning environment in a structured school setting.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑set lessons and ensure pupils stay on task.
• Maintain strong behaviour management and uphold school policies.
• Encourage participation and support pupils in completing assigned work.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil performance and behaviour.
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth lesson delivery.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people in an educational or similar setting.
• Strong communication and classroom management abilities.
• A calm, confident approach to managing groups and challenging situations.
• Proactive and reliable work ethic.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
