Cover Supervisor – Temporary (Full‑time/Part‑time) in East London

About the role

Prospero Teaching is partnering with secondary schools in the Newham borough of East London to provide cover supervisors on an ad‑hoc basis. You will step in for absent teachers across all year groups, delivering set work and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and deliver work prepared by the regular teacher in line with school policy.
• Manage pupil behaviour to ensure a constructive classroom atmosphere.
• Answer pupil questions about tasks, processes and procedures.
• Handle any immediate issues or emergencies following school guidelines.
• Collect completed work and return it to the appropriate teacher.
• Report pupil behaviour and any incidents using the school's referral procedures.

Required profile

• Passion for teaching and a genuine interest in supporting pupils.
• Minimum GCSE qualifications.
• Reliability and punctuality.
• Previous experience in teaching or covering is preferred but not mandatory.
