Cover Supervisor (Temporary)

About the role

We are looking for a temporary Cover Supervisor to support secondary schools across Surrey and West Sussex. The role involves stepping in for absent teachers, delivering pre‑planned lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver scheduled lessons in the absence of the regular teacher across multiple secondary schools.
• Prepare and set up teaching materials and equipment for each class.
• Monitor student progress, provide feedback and adapt instruction as needed.
• Maintain classroom order, manage behaviour and ensure a safe environment.
• Travel between schools within Surrey and West Sussex as required.

Required profile

• Experience working with secondary‑age pupils is highly advantageous.
• Strong desire to enter the teaching profession or gain further experience in education.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to manage classrooms and adapt teaching methods.
• Flexibility to travel to different school sites.
