Cover Supervisor – Temporary (Preston)

About the role

Reed Education, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to support schools in the Preston area. You will step in when teachers are absent, ensuring lessons continue smoothly and pupils stay focused on prepared activities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑planned classroom activities and supervise pupils during teacher absence.
• Maintain a positive learning environment and keep students on task.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and any issues observed.

Required profile

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong spelling and grammar.
• Recent experience working in secondary schools (Key Stage 3, 4 or 5).
• Commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
• Passion for working with children and a strong safeguarding mindset.
