Cover Teacher – Flexible School Assignments

About the role

Reed Education is seeking enthusiastic Cover Teachers to step into classrooms across Brighton and the South East. This temporary, full‑time position offers the chance to deliver prepared lessons, support student learning, and experience a variety of school environments.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lessons or activities prepared by the regular teacher.
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a safe, positive learning atmosphere.
• Provide feedback on student progress and lesson outcomes.
• Follow each school’s policies, procedures and cultural expectations.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent) or relevant teaching experience.
• Willingness to obtain a valid DBS check.
• Strong subject knowledge and awareness of the curriculum.
• Flexible, adaptable attitude with a reliable work ethic.

Required skills

• Classroom management.
• Lesson delivery based on pre‑planned materials.
• Effective communication with students and staff.
