Credit Analyst – Commodities Metals

About the role

Join a leading global commodity trading firm in the City of London as a Credit Analyst focused on metals and other commodities. You will develop and enhance the firm’s credit risk management function while working in a hybrid environment with competitive benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and manage credit risk applications for new and existing clients, applying internal rating procedures.
• Monitor the firm’s credit exposure to counterparties and provide analytical support to the front‑desk.
• Develop relationships with counterparties’ risk management teams and conduct ongoing credit diligence.
• Maintain and improve internal controls related to risk management.
• Support business development initiatives through due‑diligence calls and occasional site visits.
• Assist the front‑desk in applying for credit limits and internal ratings, documenting approvals locally and at headquarters.

Required profile

• Proven experience in physical and derivatives commodities trading and financing, especially precious and base metals, energy, and bulk commodities.
• Background in credit risk analysis within a commodity trading company or financial institution.
• Degree qualified in Business, Economics, Finance or Accounting.
• Experience liaising with stakeholders at various levels in a multinational environment.
