Credit Approval Control Lead – Wealth Credit Services

About the role

Citi is seeking an experienced professional to lead the Credit Approval Control function within its Wealth Credit Services team in London. The role provides an independent quality‑control checkpoint at the credit approval stage, ensuring compliance with internal policies, wealth product programs and regulatory requirements across the EMEA region.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a critical control point to verify that credit approvals meet applicable laws, regulations and Citi internal policies.
• Assess and confirm that credit facilities have the appropriate levels of approval under Wealth Credit Risk (WCR) and Retail Credit Risk (RCR) policies.
• Ensure full KYC compliance for all loan parties before authorising any credit facility.
• Authorise new credit facilities and subsequent modifications within the regional credit system, confirming all prerequisites are satisfied.
• Validate that all required local regulatory documentation is complete and compliant prior to facility authorisation.
• Conduct reviews of credit‑regulatory and policy‑driven data attributes in the credit system to guarantee accuracy and integrity.
• Validate Critical Data Elements (CDEs) to maintain high‑quality data within the credit system.

Required profile

• Proven experience in credit underwriting, credit risk management or related financial services.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, KYC processes and internal credit policies.
• Ability to work closely with underwriters, Centre of Excellence analysts and team heads to ensure seamless credit processes.
• Excellent analytical and data‑validation skills with attention to detail.
