Credit Control Technician – Insurance

About the role

We are seeking a Credit Control Technician to join the finance team of a leading global insurer. You will manage a portfolio of broker accounts, overseeing the full settlement cycle from invoicing to collection and allocation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and collect outstanding balances from brokers and third parties.
• Own a dedicated ledger, monitor aged debt and ensure timely settlements.
• Investigate discrepancies in premiums, commissions and taxes.
• Process cashbacks and allocate incoming payments accurately.
• Produce and reconcile monthly broker statements.
• Provide stakeholders with regular updates on balances and issues.
• Develop strong relationships with brokers, underwriters and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate records and support financial controls, escalating high‑risk balances when needed.

Required profile

• Previous experience in insurance or financial services credit control, IBA or a related finance function.
• Good understanding of insurance premiums, settlements and broker accounts.
• Strong reconciliation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage a busy ledger and meet settlement deadlines.
• Professional, persistent approach to debt collection.
• Effective communication with brokers and underwriters.

Required skills

• Intermediate Excel.
• Experience with insurance accounting systems (e.g., IBA).
