Credit Controller – Competitive Salary & Benefits

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Credit Controller to manage debt collection and credit risk for a manufacturing client in Poole. You will own the end‑to‑end credit process, ensuring timely payments while delivering high‑quality service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of debt management, proactively collecting invoices and monitoring customer credit.
• Act as the main point of contact for account queries, reconciling payments and managing customer portals (including EDI integration).
• Assess new and existing accounts for creditworthiness, set appropriate credit limits based on credit agency and trade references.
• Prioritise collection activities to maximise cash flow and minimise bad‑debt exposure.
• Resolve invoice and payment queries promptly, produce statements, overdue letters and regular credit‑hold reports.
• Prepare month‑end consolidated invoices and escalate significant issues as needed.

Required profile

• Experience in credit control, accounts receivable or debt collection within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong numeracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with customers and internal teams.
• Proactive, organised and able to work to deadlines.

Required skills

• EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) handling.
