Credit Controller

About the role

We are looking for a Credit Controller to join our finance team in Wimbledon. You will be responsible for processing client payments, applying our credit control policy and ensuring the debtors ledger is kept up‑to‑date. The role is Monday‑Friday, 9 am‑5.30 pm, in a supportive and inclusive office environment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the company’s credit control policy, keeping monthly debtor collections within targets.
• Chase overdue debt using credit control software, send reminders and make phone calls to customers.
• Take customer payments over the phone via a secure online merchant terminal.
• Process and post daily bank receipts into the accounting system.
• Perform month‑end bank reconciliations and reconcile customer account discrepancies.
• Maintain the sales ledger, update customer contact details and process credit notes.
• Carry out credit checks and periodic reviews of customer credit limits.
• Generate reports and assist wholesale customers with service queries.

Required profile

• At least 2 years experience in credit control or a client‑facing role such as estate agency.
• Energetic self‑starter with strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and record‑keeping abilities.
• Motivated, methodical investigator who can work independently.
• Suitable for recent graduates or back‑to‑work parents seeking a Monday‑Friday schedule.
