Credit Controller

About the role

Our client in Chorley is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to take full ownership of the credit control and sales ledger functions. Following rapid growth over the past decade, the workload has increased and now requires a dedicated full‑time professional.

Key responsibilities

• Chase overdue accounts via phone and email.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date sales ledger at all times.
• Produce weekly reports for line managers, highlighting any issues.
• Resolve disputes to ensure prompt payments.
• Set and enforce credit limits for new and existing customers.
• Raise credit notes where necessary to secure timely payments.
• Post and allocate payments to customer accounts.
• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Implement and improve credit control procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience in credit control, preferably with sales ledger exposure.
• Confident and professional communicator able to build rapport while remaining firm.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
