Credit Controller – £29,000 per year

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to take full ownership of the sales ledger for a dynamic business in Blaydon. The role involves managing high‑volume transactions, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debt and supporting the finance team in month‑end activities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and own the sales ledger, monitoring customer accounts and chasing overdue invoices.
• Allocate customer payments, reconcile accounts and resolve invoice queries efficiently.
• Support the purchase ledger by processing supplier invoices, preparing payment runs and reconciling statements.
• Assist with month‑end close, bank reconciliations and provide ad‑hoc finance analysis.
• Contribute to audit preparation and financial reporting as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in credit control or accounts receivable, preferably handling high‑volume transactions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills for dealing with customers and internal teams.
• Full‑time, office‑based availability, Monday‑Friday 9‑5.
