Credit Controller (Temporary Contract)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join our busy credit team on a temporary basis until 31 December. The role involves managing a portfolio of major accounts, driving debt collection, and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and collect debt across a designated portfolio of major business accounts.
• Review, prioritise and manage ledger balances daily to maximise cash collection.
• Ensure collection activities comply with company policies and procedures.
• Process manual Direct Debit collections and act on rejected payments.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to support timely payments.
• Identify accounts requiring escalation and recommend further recovery action.
• Liaise with internal teams to resolve billing, payment and account queries.
• Maintain accurate records and up‑to‑date ledger information.
• Provide support and cover for colleagues across the wider credit team.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years' experience in credit control or collections.
• Strong knowledge of credit control procedures and debt recovery processes.
• Excellent organisational and prioritisation abilities.
• Methodical, proactive problem‑solving approach.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a target‑driven environment.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
