Credit Controller (Temporary)

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team on a temporary, full‑time basis. Working in a hybrid model, you will manage a dedicated book of business, minimise debtor balances and ensure compliance with FCA regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily credit control activities via telephone, email and letters, following the agreed collection cycle.
• Produce and distribute daily and monthly arrears reports to senior stakeholders and the Board.
• Manage relationships with external debt collection agencies and oversee litigation cases as required.
• Process direct debit collections, cash allocation and maintain accurate customer records.
• Handle customer queries and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Maintain and improve collection processes, ensuring FCA compliance.
• Administer lease proposals, settlements, and invoicing for the owned book portfolio.
• Support internal and external audits and contribute to process development.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of credit control experience in a B2B environment.
• Experience or knowledge of leasing, financial services and FCA regulatory requirements is advantageous.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade B or above.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
