Credit Hire Technical Supervisor

About the role

This role offers an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team supporting file handlers to fully investigate credit hire claims from a technical and strategic point of view. The Technical Supervisor will work directly with the business unit director and Technical manager, overseeing supervision, mentoring and coaching of individual credit hire file handlers.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise credit hire file handlers according to the Competency framework and maintain accurate technical development records.
• Mentor and coach individuals to extend their technical knowledge and expertise.
• Assist with pre‑audit assessments for external client audits and internal unit audits.
• Identify training requirements and provide feedback to team leaders and tactical delivery directors.
• Undertake all pre‑trial reviews no later than six weeks prior to trial or disposal.
• Develop new starters to achieve their first financial authority within six months.
• Manage performance improvement plans for file handlers with technical issues.
• Handle a caseload of approximately 10‑15 claims with values exceeding £25k.

Required profile

• Credit hire experience, preferably as a defendant.
• Qualified Solicitor or equivalent qualification.
• Proven ability to manage own caseload.
• Strong planning and prioritisation skills, remaining calm under pressure and meeting deadlines.
• Excellent listening and verbal communication abilities.
