Credit & Portfolio Manager – Development Finance

About the role

This position sits at the heart of a fast‑growing development and bridging finance lender, supporting property developers and investors with loans up to £7.5m. You will be involved from the initial enquiry through to loan completion and ongoing portfolio management, giving you full exposure to the end‑to‑end lending process.

Key responsibilities

• Process loan applications, assess borrower information and documentation.
• Review creditworthiness, identify risk factors and flag potential issues.
• Prepare and finalise credit papers, recommendations and supporting documentation.
• Manually underwrite deals and manage the approvals workflow.
• Support transaction execution and funding of approved loans.
• Manage post‑funding portfolio activities, including collections, client relationship management and redemptions.
• Conduct site visits for development loans across the UK as required.
• Liaise with senior management, brokers, lawyers and quantity surveyors throughout the loan lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven experience in specialist property lending or development finance.
• Strong analytical and credit assessment skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership from application to redemption.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with borrowers, brokers and external advisers.
• Proactive, confident and able to thrive in a growth‑led, small‑team environment.
