Criminal Defence Solicitor

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Criminal Defence Solicitor to join our specialist Criminal Law team. The role involves handling a diverse portfolio of private criminal matters, providing confidential, high‑quality advice and representation to individuals and companies facing prosecution.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload across multiple areas of criminal law, ensuring work meets the firm’s professional standards.
• Conduct case management using the firm’s systems and IT tools, maintaining efficient and cost‑effective practices.
• Provide advice, preparation and representation for clients at every stage of investigations and prosecutions.
• Represent private‑paying clients before police, courts and regulatory bodies such as the Police, CPS, SFO, HMRC, FCA, NCA and RSPCA.
• Travel nationwide to attend police stations and court hearings as required.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with experience in criminal defence.
• Demonstrated ability to manage cases independently and maintain client confidentiality.
• Strong client‑focused approach with sensitivity and discretion.
• Willingness to travel across the UK for court and police engagements.
