Criminal Solicitor – Reading (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Criminal Defence Solicitor to join a leading law firm in Reading. The role offers a varied criminal caseload, hybrid working and a supportive, people‑first environment.

Key responsibilities

• Represent clients at police stations and on 24‑hour duty (if accredited).
• Advocate in Magistrates’ Courts and prepare matters for Crown Court.
• Provide advice on interviews, cautions, voluntary attendances and charging decisions.
• Handle a range of offences from public order and drugs to complex serious crimes.
• Maintain high standards of client care and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor (NQ to 6+ PQE acceptable).
• Police Station Accreditation preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Strong advocacy skills and composure under pressure.
• Excellent communication and client‑focused mindset.
• Ability to manage own matters while collaborating with a dedicated team.
