Criminology Lead Teacher (Part‑time, potential full‑time)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Criminology Lead Teacher to join our Humanities team at a secondary college serving KS3‑KS5 students. The role is initially part‑time with the possibility of expanding to full‑time for candidates who can also teach another Humanities subject.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery and development of the Criminology curriculum, ensuring high‑quality teaching and strong student outcomes.
• Teach Criminology to KS4 and/or KS5 learners, adapting content to their level of experience.
• Plan curriculum, design assessments and monitor student progress, implementing strategies to raise achievement.
• Contribute to the wider Humanities department and collaborate on cross‑subject initiatives.
• For full‑time consideration, take responsibility for an additional Humanities subject such as Sociology, History, Geography or RE.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching Criminology at secondary level.
• Strong understanding of curriculum design, assessment requirements and behaviour management.
• Collaborative, proactive approach to teaching and departmental leadership.
• Ability to teach an additional Humanities subject is desirable for full‑time candidates.
