About the role
Collingwood College is looking for an enthusiastic Criminology Lead Teacher to join its Humanities team. The position is initially part‑time with the possibility of converting to full‑time for candidates who can also teach another Humanities subject such as Sociology, History, Geography or RE. The role starts in September 2026.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the delivery and development of the Criminology curriculum for KS4 and/or KS5.
- Plan, teach and assess Criminology lessons, ensuring high‑quality instruction and strong student outcomes.
- Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise achievement.
- Contribute to wider Humanities department initiatives and curriculum planning.
- For full‑time consideration, teach an additional Humanities subject.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience teaching Criminology at secondary level.
- Strong understanding of curriculum design and assessment requirements.
- Effective classroom management and behaviour management skills.
- Collaborative and proactive approach to teaching and leadership.
