Criminology Lead Teacher – Part‑time with full‑time potential

About the role

Collingwood College is seeking an enthusiastic Criminology Lead Teacher on a part‑time basis, with the possibility of moving to a full‑time contract. The role involves teaching Criminology to KS4 and/or KS5 students and leading the subject’s development within the Humanities department.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery and development of the Criminology curriculum.
• Teach Criminology at KS4 and/or KS5, ensuring high‑quality instruction.
• Plan curriculum, design assessments and monitor student progress.
• Implement strategies to raise achievement and manage classroom behaviour.
• Contribute to the wider Humanities department and, for full‑time consideration, teach an additional Humanities subject.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Proven experience teaching Criminology.
• Strong understanding of curriculum and assessment requirements.
• Excellent classroom practice and behaviour management skills.
• Collaborative and proactive approach to teaching and leadership.
• Ability to teach another Humanities subject (desirable for full‑time).
