About the role
The Crown Attorney (Term) position is a two‑year fixed‑term role within Nova Scotia's Public Prosecution Service, based in Bridgewater. The successful candidate will represent the Crown in criminal and quasi‑criminal matters, ensuring fairness and integrity in the administration of justice.
Key responsibilities
- Represent the Crown in criminal and quasi‑criminal matters at all levels of court.
- Handle appeals and provide legal advice and assistance to law‑enforcement agencies.
- Contribute to the development of criminal law and prosecution policy.
- Participate in case preparation, evidentiary assessments, and courtroom advocacy.
Required profile
- Law degree and membership in good standing with the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society.
- Strong understanding of criminal and provincial offences legislation.
- Commitment to fairness, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse, inclusive team.
Required skills
- Legal research and analysis.
- Oral and written advocacy.
- Case management and courtroom procedure.
