Custody Support Worker – HMP Portland

About the role

Join Seetec’s CFO Evolution team as a Custody Support Worker, providing compassionate guidance to individuals in custody at HMP Portland. You will manage a caseload from initial engagement through to release, delivering one‑to‑one sessions and group interventions that focus on motivation, personal challenges and pre‑release planning.

Key responsibilities

• Meet individual and team performance targets in line with contractual requirements.
• Deliver motivational guidance and tailored support through one‑to‑one and group sessions.
• Collaborate with volunteer peer mentors to connect participants with housing, substance‑use and health resources.
• Develop and implement pre‑release plans to ensure smooth community reintegration.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to case reviews.

Required profile

• Compassionate and motivated with a genuine desire to help vulnerable adults.
• Experience in probation, social care, prison rehabilitation, substance‑misuse, mental health or community outreach – or a recent graduate eager to enter the criminal‑justice sector.
• Ability to work effectively within a secure prison environment.

• Competitive salary £25,877 – £29,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
