Customer Account Advisor

About the role

As a Customer Account Advisor you will be the primary point of contact for residents and organisations, ensuring debts are recovered while maintaining a high level of service. Working from a hybrid base in Hemel Hempstead, you will manage the full lifecycle of the sales ledger for a diverse portfolio of accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Contact customers by phone and email to negotiate payment plans, chase arrears and resolve queries.
• Process structured reminder cycles, statements and formal escalations in line with company policy.
• Monitor aged debt, produce regular reports and propose actions for high‑risk accounts.
• Investigate disputes, coordinate with internal teams and external partners such as solicitors.
• Maintain accurate ledger records, notes and documentation for every account.

Required profile

• Customer‑focused with a calm, professional communication style.
• Ability to balance empathy with firm credit‑control conversations.
• Organised, process‑driven and comfortable handling multiple accounts simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce clear, timely reports.

Required skills

• Experience with sales ledger or accounts receivable processes.
• Familiarity with debt collection and credit control procedures.
• Proficiency in using email and telephone communication tools.
