Customer Account Manager

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position is for a proactive Customer Account Manager who enjoys building relationships and delivering excellent service in a busy multi‑depot environment. You will be the first point of contact for national and B2B customers, handling enquiries, processing orders, preparing quotations and supporting both new and existing accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to customer enquiries via telephone, email and web platforms promptly and professionally.
• Manage requests, quotations, purchase orders and sales enquiries through to completion.
• Build strong relationships with national accounts, key trading accounts and new customers.
• Support onboarding and adoption of B2B trade portal platforms.
• Identify upselling opportunities and promote new products where appropriate.
• Use CRM and Orderwise systems to manage quotes, orders and customer information accurately.
• Follow up quotations, record outcomes and reasons for lost sales.
• Process returns and credits in line with company procedures.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding products, pricing and parts enquiries.
• Deliver excellent customer service, resolve or escalate complaints, and ensure GDPR, health & safety and company compliance.
• Continuously develop product knowledge through training.

Required profile

• Previous experience in customer service, sales support or internal sales (ideally within plant hire, construction or groundcare).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Positive, professional approach to customer relationships.
• Good IT confidence using digital platforms and CRM systems.

• Salary £26,000‑£28,500 per year.
