Customer Assistant – In‑Store Bakery

About the role

We are looking for a Customer Assistant to join the In‑Store Bakery team at M&S in Dunblane. You will work on the “sharp end” of fresh produce, delivering hot bread and high‑quality service to our customers in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present freshly baked goods, ensuring they meet M&S quality and safety standards.
• Maintain full shelves and manage demand during peak hours, especially on Saturday and Sunday shifts (13:00‑20:30).
• Operate specialist cutting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Provide five‑star customer service, responding quickly to requests and queries.
• Collaborate with team members, adapting to different store roles as needed.
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.

Required profile

• Passion for food and a commitment to perfection.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain speed without compromising safety.
• Flexibility to work weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) as scheduled.
• Minimum age of 18 years, in line with health‑and‑safety legislation.
• Team‑oriented mindset with a proactive, hands‑on attitude.
