Customer Delivery Driver – Lakeside Extra

About the role

As the face of Tesco on the road, you will bring groceries directly to customers' homes across the Lakeside Extra area. The role combines safe driving, customer interaction and physical handling of orders, offering a varied day‑to‑day experience.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the van, trays and work area clean, tidy and organised to ensure orders arrive in perfect condition.
• Load the van safely and complete all pre‑delivery checks to confirm roadworthiness.
• Communicate order changes, substitutions or short‑dated items to customers in a friendly manner and process refunds when required.
• Handle products with care, treating each order as if it were your own.
• Deliver within the customer’s chosen time slot, providing warm, natural service at the doorstep.

Required profile

• Build strong relationships with colleagues to foster team spirit.
• Be warm and welcoming with customers and colleagues.
• Respond quickly to changing customer needs while on the road.
• Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.

• Hourly pay starting at £14.18, rising to £15.45 in stores within the M25.
• Minimum 16 hours per week (roles from 12 hours also available).
